Building an Archive of Art: A Gateway to Inspirational Artworks

For a second year in a row, the Archivorum Ark project was featured in the official program of ArtGenève 2025. This year, I had the opportunity to participate in the panel of the Art Talk “The practice of archiving art and bridging Time and Memory”, where I shared my experience and lessons learned in archiving Babs Haenen’s art.

On the occasion of this talk, I was asked to prepare the following video to showcase my archival process and share more details about Babs Haenen’s innovative techniques and inspirations. In particular, I highlight her extensive artistic output ranging from delicate porcelain landscapes to sculptural vessels. It is impressive how each piece is telling a story of transformation, movement and mastery.

As you can see in my video, this year-long experience is a deeply enriching one. As I explore further, I am filled with profound emotions and insights. What amazes me the most is that archiving is more than a repository of information; it is an invitation to immerse yourself in the boundless creativity of an artist who has redefined contemporary ceramics over the past four decades.

I look forward to completing the critical publication and sharing it with the world!
